I drew three arrows over down days on higher volume. In each of those days, volume was higher compared to the previous trading day.

As noted two weeks ago, the market was declining on stronger volume. However, as the market rallied this week, notice the decline in volume. On Thursday, November 12, the market once again went down on higher volume. This seems to be a continuing theme.

As noted last week, the market was declining on much stronger volume. This would indicate that large institutional investors are selling shares. However, as the market rallied this week, notice the decline in volume.

(The ETF index fund DIA is being used.). Basically, there is an idealized wave structure that is emerging: wave (2) is nearing a top or has already hit a top. In our last discussion, we noted that the INDU was ready to turn to the downside. The turn came about in a see-saw, back-and-forth action that would make even the savviest investor’s head twirl. However, we talked about volume decreasing on the way up; the opposite pattern is emerging right now on the chart.
